Many EnterpriseWorks and community startup and small business clients successfully received PPP loans. Research Park Entrepreneur-in-Residence Dennis Beard shared best practices for companies that received PPP loans in a webinar on May 6. The Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program provides free consulting to new startup ventures and prospective technology entrepreneurs. The Entrepreneur-in-Residence team features experienced entrepreneurs that have faced challenges in commercializing research/early stage technology.
Beard shared insights on how to process loan funds during the 8-week period of receiving the funds and optimize for loan forgiveness, properly segment expenses, and properly track loans vs. other sources of income/grants. The session is available online here. His presentation with tips and recommendations is available here.
We encourage local tech entrepreneurs to request assistance from the Research Park Entrepreneur-In-Residence Program if they want guidance for their business. The C-U Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is providing free counseling on PPP and EIDL Loans.
