Research Park Companies Help “Stuff the Bus”

Research Park companies and employees collected more than 300 flash drives to donate to the United Way of Champaign County’s Stuff the Bus event.

Stuff the Bus is an effort by United Way to meet the needs of our community by collecting frequently needed items for its agencies. A CUMTD bus travelled around the community on Wednesday, August 29, picking up items from various businesses and organizations, including a stop at EnterpriseWorks.

Research Park “adopted” flash drives as its contribution to this event. Clients of United Way agencies often don’t have their own computers, so they need flash drives to store resumes, cover letters, and other personal digital information.

With a goal set to collect 200 drives, Research Park companies shattered that, with more than 300 collected. Special thanks to Aqueous Solutions, Caterpillar, the State Farm Research and Development Center, and the iHotel for making substantial donations.
