CHAMPAIGN– SnackPass is a new app that lets customers grab five snacks from local restaurants per month for only a ten-dollar subscription fee. It is designed to make money as it pursues it social mission of reducing food waste. EnterpriseWorks Graduate and Co-Founder of Zero Percent, Raj Karmani says, “Zero Percent, a for-profit company that collects excess meals from restaurants and delivers them for free to nonprofits, will use the fees to cover food transportation costs.” Since 2012, they have donated 334,000 meals to the hungry.
