The U.S. Small Business Administration announced the EnterpriseWorks incubator at the University of Illinois Research Park as a Stage One winner for the 2024 Growth Accelerator Fund Competition. The incubator will receive a $50,000 cash prize for its inclusive approach in supporting the launch, growth, and scale of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)-based entrepreneurs. Dr. Conerty is the Associate Director of Business Development at the Integrated Bioprocessing Research Laboratory (IBRL) and has been serving as the Regional Innovation Officer at the Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing (iFAB) Hub since it was selected as a 2023 Tech Hub Designee last October.

Congratulations to EnterpriseWorks startup graduate Serionix, Inc. for recently signing a deal with Lowe's and Chewy for @colorfil_air.

Serionix was founded by James Langer and Will (Weihua) Zheng, then University of Illinois graduate students, in 2011. During their tenure at EnterpriseWorks, they developed filtration technology that is now used for pet owners.
