We’re one of America’s leading research universities, and we’re looking for a visionary leader to build on our storied history of innovation to elevate the impact of entrepreneurship at Illinois. If you know what it takes to develop programs, lead teams, and support new ventures with bold ideas, services, and activities, we want to hear from you.
The Director of Entrepreneurship seeks to build the national reputation and excellence of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign entrepreneurship ecosystem in partnership with key stakeholders on campus. The Director is responsible for strategic development and implementation of a vision and infrastructure to establish and accelerate a cross-campus culture of entrepreneurship that spans research institutes, colleges, and departments. The vision will anticipate mechanisms to secure and grow entrepreneurship programs and resources to assist clients with company creation, funding, management, and growth beyond the incubation phase.
The position is primarily focused on supporting the entrepreneurship programming and business development of clients of the EnterpriseWorks incubator at the University of Illinois Research Park, which provides technology commercialization support for researchers and entrepreneurs, supports new venture creation, and catalyzes promising startup companies. The role includes oversight of the capital building project to create EnterpriseWorks 2.0, which will provide a growth-stage location for small businesses in the Research Park and a location for entrepreneurship programming and collaboration.
For full consideration, applications must be received by April 27, 2022. However, the search will remain open until the position is filled.
