Research Park startup, Rithmio Inc., has raised $650,000 from investors that include Hyde Park Venture Partners, Illinois Ventures, Techra Investments and Serra Ventures.
Rithmio was founded by University of Illinois graduate student, Adam Tilton, about a year ago. Rithmio has created gesture recognition software that can be integrated with any device to produce accurate and detailed analytics. In April, Rithmio won U of I’s Cozad Venture Competition. Rithmio has not lined up any customers yet, but they hope to license the technology to companies that make wearables and fitness trackers.
