Champaign-Urbana has been named among 25 communities that will be awarded for developing an immigration integration strategy. Efforts will be led by the University YMCA, which has partnered with Research Park, the Champaign County Economic Development Corp., and the cities of Champaign and Urbana to collaborate on the planning process. Champaign-Urbana has also been awarded as a Gateways for Growth recipient, which gives our community, “customized quantitative research reports from New American Economy on how immigrants have contributed to the communtiy, along with assistance on drafting, executing and communicating the immigration integration strategy.”
