Champaign-Urbana Named a Top Small City for Educated Millenials
Business Insider recaps a new report on the top destinations for young college graduates which names Champaign-Urbana one of the country’s top small cities for educated millenials, and one of the reasons Champaign-Urbana made the grade is its “abundance of tech startups.” The University of Illinois Research Park has more than 90 tech companies, including more than 45 startups in the EnterpriseWorks incubator.
Wrote Business Insider’s “While surrounded by farm communities, Champaign-Urbana’s proximity to the University of Illinois and its abundance of tech startup companies makes it a popular destination for millennials.”
The American Institute for Economic Research ranked cities based on economic and quality-of-life factors that are important to young people.The top three factors included high density of people with a college degree, a low unemployment rate, and the ability to get around the city without a car.
