Job Summary

The Developer / Programmer II will assist the Web Development Team Lead in working with business units to design, create, and support state of the art web applications for the agriculture sector in a test driven development and Agile environment. The software includes remote connection to agriculture controllers, agriculture data acquisition, and presentation and analytics of data. The work is to be performed at our office in the University of Illinois Research Park.


Job Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain and troubleshoot program logic in GSI existing and future cloud based data analytics products

  • Create and perform unit and integration code testing

  • Document and model existing and new program features for existing software and future development projects

  • Develop and evolve coding standards

  • Participate in code reviews

  • Help plan and implement technology migrations

  • Provide technical guidance, coach and mentor junior staff to build team's technical expertise and share knowledge


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 2 to 3 years of experience in this field

  • 2-3 years of experience using javascript, in a NodeJS, Express, AngularJS runtime environment, websocket, JQuery, AJAX, HTML5, SQL, RESTful API.

  • Experience in unit testing, debugging, and developing for web applications in a client/server cloud hosted environment.

  • Demonstrated propensity to learn new programming languages and frameworks.

  • Evidence of strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
