Energy Driven Technologies (Editekk) is a developer of custom multi-functional surfaces, interfaces, and coatings to enhance material performance in applications as diverse as MedTech and fusion energy. Our surface and interface technologies provide value-added functionality to materials and products by altering their natural surface properties, which changes the way they interact with their environment. We are currently developing advanced additive manufacturing technologies to fabricate adaptive and self-healing nano and mesoscale composite materials.

The Role: 
We are looking for a Staff Research Engineer to join the Editekk team to help us develop and commercialize our surface modification technology in markets such as fusion energy, medtech, and others. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about solving real world problems by turning cutting edge research into operational production solutions.  
  • Designing, producing, testing, and analyzing material surfaces developed in the lab
  • Working on projects as assigned and coordinating activities with outside collaboration as well as in-house personnel to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Assisting in technical writing, including summarizing experimental results for in-house records and potential future publication, preparing procedural documents to meet manufacturing standards, and developing research and grant proposals to secure additional funding sources
  • Preparing CAD drawings for new equipment design and current facility modifications


  • Bachelor, Masters, or Ph. D. in a STEM major, ideally related to plasma physics or material science
  • Strong hands-on experience working in a laboratory, preferably with vacuum systems and plasma sources
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Experience using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing
  • Passion to learn new technologies and problem-solve with our R&D team
  • Collaboration in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to work independently
