How would you like to make an impact in national security for our government customers?  Forcepoint has an exciting opportunity for a software engineer to perform advanced cyber-related software product build/release management for our security-conscious government customers who depend on us every day. You will work with an advanced software engineering team at our Champaign, IL design center in the University of Illinois Research Park to help meet our customers’ most demanding mission needs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining team source code repositories, build tools/automation, build server maintenance, workspace configurations, continuous integration tools, secure repo access controls, code integrity, code merge/conflict resolution, repository backup strategies, inter-team communications, secure code quality standards, static code analysis tools, team code review processes and facilitate adherence to Agile software development processes. Successful candidates will work closely with management as well as software development and QA teams to insure smooth, repeatable build/integration & release management processes.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter that multi-tasks well & likes working in a dynamic team environment, with a willingness to grow & learn using many traditional Linux distro & Java tools to build, test/debug application & OS software for secure Linux server & desktop environments.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 3 (three) years of experience
  • Excellent written & verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment to achieve high-quality results
  • Familiarity with software development in Linux/UNIX environments using a variety of programming and scripting languages including Python, Java, C, C++ and/or bash
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP networking & related protocols (such as HTTP, FTP, SSH, IPSEC, TLS and SMTP)
  • Advanced experience with version control technologies such as Subversion or Git

Preferred Skills:

  • Agile or Scrum development experience
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux distro build environments
  • Familiarity with Java build/IDE tools including Ant, Maven, IntelliJ IDEA & Android Studio
  • Experience with static code analysis tools such as Coverity, Fortify or Klocwork
  • Development experience in a distributed, parallel or clustered processing environment
  • Experience with virtual desktop redisplay technologies such RDP, Citrix Receiver or VMware Horizon View
  • Experience with thin-client usage, management & deployment scenarios
