Test Engineer

Froberg Aerospace seeks a passionate, dedicated engineer to join the team in its development of game changing small satellite propulsion systems. This is a full time position at Froberg's new headquarters located in Champaign, IL. To apply please send Resume/CV to steven.berg@frobergaerospace.com

Responsibilities:

-Design, build, and test a novel multi-mode propulsion system.

-Build test apparatus to successfully execute test objectives.

-Work with outside suppliers/machine shops to build test apparatus and propulsion components.

 

Required Qualifications:

-BS or MS (preferred) in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

-Previous experience in physical experiment or test-based research and development including data post-processing and analysis.

-Experience in using CAD systems to design components and/or test apparatus.

 

Desired Qualifications:

-PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.

-Strong working knowledge of chemical rocket propulsion test hardware and instruments including vacuum systems and pressure and temperature measurement.

OR

-Strong working knowledge of electric rocket propulsion test hardware and instruments including vacuum systems, thrust stands, and beam diagnostics (e.g. Faraday cup).
