AirScout is a growing company with a solid team of experienced leaders in agriculture, aviation, software, and image processing. Get in on the ground floor and make a difference in the world of Ag Tech. The Full Stack Developer position blends both front-end and back-end development. The position would work on both the user, and server, side of web and app development and maintenance. The role requires in-depth knowledge to be evaluated critically by our team in the interview process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain functional and fast responsive-web applications
  • Implement mobile-based and web-based features and contribute to app lifecycle
  • Troubleshoot apps for bugs, document fixes and repair as necessary
  • Improve apps for performance and usability
  • Troubleshoot UI and improve performance accordingly
  • Integrate UI elements with server-side ones
  • Detect and fulfill front-end and back-end requirements
  • Develop/document reusable code
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, sys admins, and customers. Tailor solutions to suit both internal and customer facing usage. 
  • Make sure high-quality graphic standards are preserved
  • Stay consistent with company brand

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of and proper experience with both front-end and back-end languages
  • Proper experience with CMS framework
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug browsers
  • Understanding of web development process
  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
  • Familiarity with layout requirements
  • Quality assurance skills
  • Knowledge of content management software
  • Time management and analytical skills as well as problem-solving ability
  • Ability to translate requirements into a finished project
  • Communication skills to collaborate with clients and internal development teams

Education and Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in any related field.

Work Environment

This position will be located at AirScout’s office in the Research Park at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The majority of working hours is in an office setting, either working independently or meeting with team members. Some regional travel to visit satellite offices is required.
